The
Mentor Archetype
I have a
cold and I'm annoyed. Not only me, but about half the people I know seem
to have colds or flu right now. It's accepted that we have a cold in the
winter, but it's almost summer, for cryin' out loud.
What are
we doing or not doing that allowed us to catch a virus?
I decided
to ask the Archetypes. I spread the cards out face down and selected a
card. I chose The Mentor.
After getting
settled with pen and paper, I then asked the question, "How can we
best take care of ourselves in these stressful times?"
Following
is the wisdom The Mentor shared:
For each
it will be different, but there are some generalities that suit all.
First
and most important, take care of your physical body. When you're sick
or low on energy everything becomes overwhelming. The simplest of acts
becomes more than you have energy for. Remember how you feel when you're
ill? How even getting out of bed to get yourself a glass of water becomes
a monumental chore? If you're sick, run down, or exhausted you won't
have the energy to deal with the challenges coming at you in these times.
"How
do we best take care of our body?" I then asked.
Of course,
drink water. Make it purified water so that you aren't adding to that
which exhausts the body - toxins and the removal of them. The point
of drinking water is to aid in the detoxification of the body. Drinking
tap water with its load of chemicals sabotages this purpose.
Eat less
commercially prepared food. If you want to know why, read the ingredients.
Rest when
you're tired. Even a few minutes of just sitting and meditating or daydreaming
will revitalize you and your body.
Exercise
is important to keep the body healthy because it stirs up all the processes
that bring nutrients to the cells and those that remove toxins. Visualize
a pond of still water. On the surface it may look beautiful, but underneath
there's sludge and muck built up. The same is true of your body. Keep
the rivers of blood and lymph moving or the sludge of toxins and plaque
build up.
There you
have it. Simple, practical advice from The Mentor that's easy for anyone
to implement in their life in order to fortify themselves for these challenging
times.
Love,
Kathy
